BGC Ottawa was building a new clubhouse in the Heatherington neighbourhood in Ottawa. Jackpine was tasked with building out presentations used to secure the major donor, as well as developing a public-facing fundraising campaign. We heard from a number of past members that, as kids, the clubhouses had been the only place they felt they could be themselves. The concept, “a space for every kid who needs it” captured both the need for more physical space and the role BGC clubhouses play for children and youth in the community. The campaign raised $5 million towards the new clubhouse.
A space for every kid who needs it emphasized the way a clubhouse could mean something different to each individual kid, but that everyone could find their place there. The creative included a series of isometric drawings of different spaces that could be used across digital, print and video assets, as well as in-house and for BGCO website social channels.
