Compass Rose offers policy expertise and results on par with other successful public affairs and lobbying firms. But one aspect of their culture sets them apart: their hyper-aware, stakeholder-driven, post-partisan approach. This broader understanding of diverse viewpoints results in stronger policy and regulatory goals—for their clients and for all Canadians. Find the Common Good became the firm’s mantra and our inspiration as we created a new visual identity, website and environmental signage elements.
In addition to the tagline, Jackpine worked with Compass Rose to develop a new designation for their team members: Public Affairs Counsellor. This title is a commitment to Canadians and clients to work to find the common good.
The logo concept explored the vista of threats and possibilities - speaking to the foresight required to shape strong policy. Visually it draws on images of a horizon, a rose, a compass and a ship. Jackpine drew on a sophisticated parliamentary palette, the bright copper and dark teal referencing the materiality of our federal buildings’ new and aged roofs. We gave the photography an editorial feel to highlight the character of individual team members.
The copper sign hanging on the outside of the historic One York building is intended to age and acquire patina over time, pushing back against lobbying that is slick and intended to please only momentarily.
Jackpine listened well and was very communicative. We’re happy to recommend Jackpine to clients and others as a professional marketing and design company that’s easy to work with and truly understands your needs and vision.
