We worked with Ontario’s oldest credit union to define their brand and transform one of their newest branch locations into a community-centric bank.
Alterna Savings, or Alterna Bank, is a financial co-operative. When the organisation merged with Ottawa Women’s Credit Union, Jackpine was asked to ease the transition into the Centretown neighbourhood by providing interior designs for the new branch, branch-specific marketing, and creating innovative promotional material for their public service members.
Alterna is different because it is the oldest financial cooperative in Ontario, with a history of bringing people together to stand up for economic justice that stretches back to 1908. Jackpine focused on the deep connection to the community that both the OWCU and Alterna were known for when designing the new branch’s interior by bringing on a local furniture maker, creating a space to honour the legacy of OWCU, and producing a map of the neighbourhood indicating local landmarks.
Projects: Alterna Savings Branch Interior Design, Displays for Annual General Meeting Event, Marketing
Deliverable: Interior Designs, Marketing Materials, Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography
Creative Counsel: Focus on the rich history of the co-op, its members, and community.
Our team delivered an amazing interior design, created marketing and promotion materials, and displays for their Annual General Meeting. These included free-standing banners displaying Alterna team members as a reminder that teamwork is at the forefront of everything the financial co-operative does. Our creative team worked hard to provide a beautifully detailed illustrative map for the new branch and innovative sliding card package outlining Alterna's story that would make recipients take notice.
